Jujutsu
Lone Pine Ryu - Aiki Kyusho JuJutsu is a total combat form incorporating joint locks, striking forms, throwing and projecting. It is very direct, very effective and compliments all styles of martial arts.
Kyusho
We also specialise in pressure point work. This entails attacking meridian, skeleton, blood, bioelectrical and air points. Ray has been researching and applying his knowledge for over 30 years and we've yet to find anyone with comparable knowledge.
Aiki
As you learn with us you will discover a deep and subtle side that opens up a lifetime of study. You'll be shown skilled use of the opponent’s maximum point of non-balance and the use of breath power (but that's just the tip of the iceburg). If you've ever wanted to find out about Ki, this is the place to do it.
Japanese WeaponsNo school is complete without an in-depth programme of basic (wooden) sword and long wooden stick techniques. We have an amazing weapons instructor. See our page on Japanese Weapons for more information.
The Lessons
This is a full contact fighting art, practised to a very high level with the safety of its students always uppermost in mind, and this is shown by an extremely low injury rate spanning many years. All students are encouraged to develop themselves by creating a balanced state of mind, body and spirit while working in harmony with each other.
We believe that studying and developing body, mind and technique is more important than assessing students and so the school has neither a grading system nor any coloured belts. Students of all levels of experience train together towards a common goal of self-improvement. This creates an incredibly friendly atmosphere in which to study and develop the student’s state of total well-being. It is a subject matter for life. When practised, it truly gives credence to universal spirit and oneness and the breaking down of barriers.Within the school, we firmly believe that the art of receiving is by giving and we hope that this spirit comes through in our lessons.
